Pics from Our 8 Hour Layover in Houston

Our Trip Verse this year is:
Philippians 3:7-14

7But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. 10I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.
Pressing on Toward the Goal
12Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
We have challenged our students to memorize these verses this week....we would give you the same challenge as you pray for us.

Houston Texas

We have arrived in Houston. And are spending the rest of our daylight hours in the beatifull Houston International Airport. After spending some time in going over our team covenant, some basic guidelines we broke up into our small groups to share and pray for each other. We have a few more hours...everyone is doing very well. I am very excited about what God is going to do through this group of Students. Please pray for us tonight as we arrive in Chihuahua that our bus would be there to drive us to Guachoachi Mexico. We will then participate in the church service in the morning by sharing testimonies, worship and preaching. Please continue to pray for safety as we travel.

It all Begins

Please make sure you pray for us today as we head out to Mexico. Please pray for:
-safety as we travel
-team unity as we begin
-for growth with our students and leaders
-for Adrian and Norma (the pastor and his wife in Mexico)

Today we Fly to Houston from Grand Rapids, then wiht about a 7 hour lay over (that will be fun :-) we will head to Chihuahua, Mexico. From there our plan is to have a bus and Jordan and Shane pick us up and drive through the night to Guachochi, Mexico. It is about a 7-8 hour drive. We will then rest for a few hours and attend the church in Guachochi and spend most of Sunday making final preparations for our English Camp.

Thanks so much for your prayer and support. We look forward to sharing with you what God is doing. We will attempt to update this regularly...but we are not sure of our internet service in Mexico.
Have a great day.
